Us at the Madrid apartment, all packed and ready to go!

Still not doing a great job of updating the blog.  So this is our day Aug. 19.

We moved!  Got everything packed up and the apartment cleaned.  Packed ourselves (luggage and all) into the metro and arrived at the train!  Train ride was good.  We watched a movie in Spanish (the same one as the plane).  It’s amazing how much more Spanish you can comprehend when you have text provided (subtitles in this case).  It’s also crazy how taxing translating can be.  We were wiped after watching the whole movie.




 Arrived in Barcelona, successfully contacted our apartment and agreed to meet them.  We had directions written down and just needed to find the starting street.  Asked a security guard, who told us the apartment was the big gray building on the left.  He must have had our apartment confused with another one, because the big gray building was not the right one.  We wandered around for a good 15 min before breaking down and entering a hotel to ask for directions.  They graciously gave us a map and drew where we were supposed to walk.  Exact opposite direction.  Another 15 min and we were there!

Frozen pizza for dinner (after figuring out how to work the oven) and then we headed out to the fountain show!  Firstly, the metro is SO much easier to travel on when there aren’t a kajillion people on it.  Secondly, this fountain show was AWESOME.  I wasn’t really expecting much, but this fountain was super huge and had an entire colorful show to various sets of music.  Sometimes it didn’t seem possible we were watching water.  (Check out the video on fb)
