Just pretend today is Aug. 20...
What. A. Day.
After sleeping in a little, we ventured to La Sagrada Familia, the brain
child of Antoní Gaudí. This church is a hundred some years into
construction and still not finished (optimistic estimated time of
completion: 2030?) It’s huge. It’s magnificent. The church currently
has 2 facades-- birth of Jesus and death of Jesus-- each done by a
different artist, both amazing. The inside is spectacular. Simple, yet
stunning. The entire structure is designed after natural shapes-
forests, flowers, spirals, etc. Useless to try to explain and pictures
are better, but still not great. We spent several hours there and still
couldn’t process everything.

We
spent the rest of the day "parking". The first park we visited was
unintentional (turned the wrong direction), but still quite pleasant.
After reorienting and using several outdoor escalators (yes, I said
outdoor escalators- this hill is big) we arrived at the big boy- Park
Guell. The view of Barcelona from this park is amazing. The whole
garden was impressive and we had a lovely walk (complete with crazy
guitar man- ask at your own risk). We were also able to enjoy more of
Guadi's architecture (along with some earsplitting frequencies from an
unknown source).

After this jam-packed day we hiked to a metro and returned home for dinner and discussion. Good day.
