Nice

Beach day.  With rocks!  No sand at this beach, it’s full of pebbles/rocks.  The water is also fantastically clear and cold.  Couple hours and we were satisfied.

The rocky beach.

Next up, Vieux Nice (aka old town).  Probably watch you think of when you think quaint French area.  We ambled around there and then made our way up to the waterfall.  Quite the hike, but gorgeous.

A street in Vieux Nice.

Staple of pre-travel: hiking.

The gorgeous waterfall.

and Nice.  From above.
A little frisbee on the hill and then back down to Vieux Nice for dinner.  We were scouting crepes (trying to eat local food!), but failed and ended up at an Italian place.  Being poor students, we do our best to be economical so we decided to share rather expensive pizzas.  Would have worked out really well if the place allowed sharing.  Our 9 euro pizzas were huge and delicious though!

On our way back to the hotel we walked through more old town and saw street performers that were awesome.  We also happened upon a large street dance, which we proceeded to watch for awhile.  There was group dancing that then progressed into couples dancing.  So fun to watch.  Pact to learn to dance in Athens?  Yes.

Square by night!  Notice the statue men on the poles-- they change color.
Back to the room for sleep.
