The Great Move

Aug 22 was a crazy train day.  (cue the Ozzy)

We left Barcelona in a huge rush.  Supposed to be out the door by 8:15am, finally made it to the street at 8:30am crossing our fingers we didn’t forget anything.  But all was well because we made our train!

Pretty uneventful train rides.  We made some French friends on our second train.  Nick started up a conversation with the guy next to him (who knew a little English).  Talked to them for awhile which was fun!  Our third train was a little rough.  We entered on the wrong side of the car so we had to trudge through a crowded cabin with all our luggage to find our seats.  Not fun.  Also, the train had no AC.  Funny story though!  There was a little boy on the train who thought it was fun to fan random people.  He did this for us and I thanked him in French.  He perked up at this and started speaking to me in French! I tried to explain to him that I spoke English and didn’t understand French, but my words were lost on him.  Several more times throughout the train ride he approached and started talking to me.  Friends with a little French boy now?  Yes.

Arrived in Nice all luggage and personnel intact.  Acquired a map, found the hotel, checked into our better-than-expected room, obtained dinner and chilled.  Successful day.
Our 6 person family room.  Please appreciate the lime green walls.
